Check out my Race 5 analysis for 3-24-24 below.

SA 5 (OC-80k/2x, 9T)
Primary – #1 CROSBY BEACH, #4 Cathkin Peak
Secondary – #6 Carmelita’s Man, #8 Hula Candy

Wagers: #1 to win, Exacta box 1-4, Trifecta 1-4/1-4-6-8/1-4-6-8

Comments: #1 Crosby Beach (5-2) was nabbed out of his last for $50k and Miller has decent stats first after the claim. He fired trifecta shots in his last four flat mile turf starts, and has won at this distance before. He will probably stalk the pace from the inside post under Hernandez, and the race flow might be in his favor. #4 Cathkin Peak (3-1) rallied for the place in an OC-80k/2x affair Feb. 24 and Papaprodromou is strong first after the claim. He likes this turf course and has had some success at 9T. Rispoli knows him well and he can show more in his second start after a long layoff. #6 Carmelita’s Man (7-2) is a consistent CA-bred gelding with a decent late kick. Prat takes the call and he figures to make a run in the stretch, but this race probably won’t set up for him. #8 Hula Candy (6-1) sat in midpack from post 11 and got up late at 13-1 odds in an OC-50k/1x affair at 8T Feb. 3. He started getting good last fall and his numbers jumped up in his last pair. Berrios strings along and Shirreffs has been struggling to find the winner’s circle (1-for-27 at SA).
