Horse Comments:
#2 Virgin Colada (2-1) was 9-2 in her local debut at this course and distance on July 21, and she rallied from the inside post and earned a strong late pace rating in a half-length victory, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. Flavien Prat rides back and Chad Brown has good stats with his recent grads trying winners for the first time.
#4 Lady Orient (9-2) overcame an uncomfortable trip and got up by a head as the favorite in her turf sprint bow at Ellis Park on July 13. She is bred to go this far and Dylan Davis is a profitable turf rider. She sports three local turf works for this and is an interesting alternative to the chalk. Amoss is enjoying a productive meet and she might offer a hint of value.
#9 Reining Flowers (6-1) rallied into tepid fractions to graduated by a length from post 10 at this course and distance on July 28, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. John Ortiz is 5-for-8 at Saratoga and her new rider Luis Saez is 1-for-1 with this outfit.
#7 Totally Justified (6-1) is a maiden after two starts. She was an even fourth in her dirt sprint debut at 13-1 odds on June 28, and was an even 3rd of 11 as the beaten favorite in a flat mile race in the mud at Ellis Park on July 29. Justify is a decent turf sire and dam has produced two turf winners. They paid $285k for this filly and Rusty Arnold shows a profit with shippers.
