Check out my Monday (2-24-25) Oaklawn Race 9 analysis below.
OP 9 (Dixie Belle, 3-year-old fillies, 6f dirt) – Post Time 5:51 PM ET
Primary – #4 YOU’LL BE BACK, #7 G W’s Girl
Secondary – #8 Miss Martini
Horse Comments:
#4 You’ll Be Back (3-1) ran into subsequent stakes winners Eclatant and La Cara in her debut, and graduated at this distance as the chalk at FG second time out. She was my top choice in the Year’s End in the mud at one mile Dec. 29, and she stalked, led, and was second best. She turns back and Cristian Torres knows her now, and she figures to work out a decent tactical journey.
#7 G W’s Girl (7-5) caught heavy favorite Shisospicy in the Mockingbird at this course and distance Jan. 4, and the latter returned to wire the field in an optional-claiming turf sprint at GP as the favorite Feb. 5. She is a logical win contender from off the pace.
#8 Miss Martini (4-1) stalked the pace and landed the place at 11-1 odds in her career debut at CD last June. She returned as the favorite Dec. 29 and pressed the pace and graduated in the mud. Steve Asmussen’s filly projects an early-pressing trip from the outside post.
