Check out my Monday (3-17-25) Santa Anita Park Races 8-9 analysis below.

SA 8 (Clm-12.5k, 6f) – Post Time 7:35 PM ET
Primary – #5 ROBIN’S TOUGH LOVE, #7 Full Moon Grazen
Secondary – #6 Autism Inspiration, #1 Care for Autism

Horse Comments:

#5 Robin’s Tough Love (2-1) took money in her local Mcl-12.5k bow and she scored for Asa Espinoza and Steve Miyadi. She made mistakes in her bow but won anyway. She chased outside and landed the place as the beaten favorite Feb. 17. Jorge Periban claimed her last time and she adds blinkers.

#7 Full Moon Grazen (2-1) romped by 6 lengths in an $8k maiden claimer at PLN Dec 13. She added lasix and finished a respectable 3rd of 5 in a local $12.5k sprint Jan. 23, and she broke last and rallied inside to win at this course/distance Feb. 17.

#6 Autism Inspiration (9-2) added lasix and finished a half-length behind Care for Autism Jan. 23. She stalked and was best of the rest in third in the common Feb. 17 affair.

#1 Care for Autism (6-1) romped in a Mcl-8k sprint at PLN Nov. 3, and was 3rd in a starter allowance affair at that same venue Dec. 6. She shipped to SA and won a $12.5k claimer Jan. 23. She pressed and weakened Feb. 17.

SA 9 (Clm-25k, 8T) – Post Time 8:05 PM ET
Primary – #4 BIG MAMA SUE
Secondary – #5 Katerini, #6 Tiergarten

Horse Comments:

#4 Big Mama Sue (8-5) pressed and easily scored as the heavy favorite under Prat in a similar flat mile turf race at SA Dec. 27. She was 19-1 in a much tougher optional-claiming turf route Jan. 25 and finished last of 10 (winner Lady Claypoole next-out winner). Last time, she returned to the $25k level and rallied for the place. Antonio Fresu takes the call and he guided her to a close show finish in a similar 8T affair at DMR in November.

#5 Katerini (5-2) is 1-for-16 with nine minor awards at SA and 1-for-11 with seven underneath finishes at 8T. She turned back and landed the place in a similar 6T affair Feb. 21. Hector Berrios got to know her last time and a stalking trip is expected.

#6 Tiergarten (7-2) turned back, chased inside speed Unwritten Code from second, and weakened to 5th of 8 Feb. 21. She reconnects with Juan Hernandez and might be more patiently handled this time. She has dropped 11 straight since winning a local turf route October 2023.
