Check out my Thursday (6-19-25) Gulfstream Park Race 8 analysis below.

GP 8 (OC-75k/1x, 3-year-olds, 5.5f dirt) – Post Time  4:20 PM ET
Primary – #1 LATCH THE HATCH, #4 Grayscale
Secondary – #2 Lawler

Horse Comments:

#1 Latch the Hatch (2-1) was part of the trifecta in all five dirt sprints vs. Florida-breds. He earned an improved number in a sharp local 6f win as the favorite on May 23 (second time blinkers). The 2-time local winner is entered for the $75k tag. He figures to save ground stalking the pace and horses breaking from the inside post are clicking at a 34% rate.

#4 Grayscale (1-1) was 30 cents on the dollar in his local 6f bow last fall and he made the lead and won by 4 1/2 lengths. He was 1.40-1 in the Swale Stakes at seven panels on Feb. 1 and he dueled and was beaten 21 lengths, and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. The $240k Frosted colt adds lasix and cuts back a furlong and a half, and he should be all over the pace.

#2 Lawler (8-1) pressed and aired by 6 lengths in a $25k claiming sprint on May 30. He earned a better speed rating last time and he can stalk the pace and hit the board.
