Ellis Park 9 (G3 Matt Winn, 9f)
Primary – #4 VERIFYING, #3 Bo Cruz
Secondary – #2 Disarm
Wagers: #4 to win, Exacta Box 3-4, Trifecta 3-4/2-3-4/2-3-4

Comments: #4 Verifying (3-1) was cooked on a very hot pace in the Kentucky Derby (G1) and those aggressive tactics had everything to do with his inner draw. He had to hustle away from post 2 and got caught in a duel. That was the first time he battled for the early lead since his winning sprint bow last summer. He just missed in the Blue Grass (G1) before that and might work out a great trip tracking #3 Bo Cruz (4-1). The latter is lightly raced and on the upswing for Al Stall Jr. He rallied for the place in his sprint bow and stretched out and wired the field in his last pair. The Creative Cause colt should make the lead and Verifying is the only other entrant with early speed. Those two might make it a parade. #2 Disarm (2-1) is consistent for Asmussen but he is still eligible for an entry level spot. He was second in the LA Derby (G3), third in the Lexington (G3), and fourth in the Kentucky Derby (G1). He will probably stalk from midpack under Rosario.
