Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running sprint winner at 5 1/2 panels on dirt. The other three dirt winners stalked the pace. On a turf course kind to late runners, a stalking favorite won the opener at 1 1/6 miles, a last-to-first closer graduated as the favorite at 8.5f, a last-to-first closer pulled off a 26-1 upset at one mile, and a last-to-first closer captured the CTT ad TOC at 1 3/8 miles (rail at 30 feet).
Umberto Rispoli rode both halves of the early double, and Antonio Fresu booted home the late double.
