Top 4 Finishers: Sugar Fish, Nothing Like You, Jane Austin, Show Card
Comments: Just four horses broke from the gate in this Grade 2 contest. Sugar Fish stumbled badly out of the gate and was away last. Jane Austin did not have the best beginning but recovered quickly from the inside post and make the early running. Show Card chased from second and strong favorite Nothing Like You stalked wide from the outside post. The latter was 1-2 and was no match for Sugar Fish ($13.40), who moved smartly and found her best stride in the lane to score by 9 3/4 lengths. Tyler Baze rode the winner for Jeff Mullins and she was the longest shot on the board. Nothing Like You held the place by less than a length over Jane Austin, and Show Card was well behind the rest in last.
The $1 Pick 6 pool was $92,605 and tickets with six winners paid $24,730.80. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $261.70.

Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 6-9-24
Affirmed Stakes (8.5f)
Fractions: 23.46, 46.90, 1:10.77, 1:35.95, 1;42.57
Top 4 Finishers: Parenting, Scatify, Cornell, Mc Vay
Comments: This was a dominating performance by chalky winner Parenting ($3.40). Bob Baffert’s Justify colt dueled with Scatify, put that one away, and powered home to win by 7 1/2 lengths. Scatify kept to his task and landed the place, and Cornell edged Mc Vay for the show. 22-1 outsider Miracle Mark trailed. Parenting was excellent in this race and ripped this group to shreds. He was exiting a 5 1/2 furlong maiden race, and the $750k Justify colt could be an important 3-year-old the second half of the year.
The $1 Pick 6 pool was $113,751 and nobody had all six winners. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $3,720.60. There will be a Pick 6 carryover of $60,770 when live racing resumes on Thursday.
June 9 Claims: Race 2 – Shes Just Fluffy ($20k, Jorge Periban). Race 3 – Dr. Soulfire ($30k, Phil D’Amato). Race 4 – Satellite Heart ($32k, Kristin Mulhall), We’ll Do It Live ($Steve Knapp). Race 6 – Soul of Midnight ($20k, Steve Knapp). Race 7 – Calm Sea ($80k, Steve Knapp).
