Horse Comments:
#1 Jaa Mode (9-2) was nabbed out of his last by Rob Atras and he has good stats first after the claim. This one stalked and scored vs. $25k claiming routers at Parx on Feb. 14, and made the lead and dusted $15k claimers by 16 lengths at that same venue on May 27. Kendrick Carmouche is probably on a send mission from the inside post.
#3 Hagrid’s Flame (8-1) showed marked improvement in a flat mile maiden win on June 15 and he earned a decent late pace rating. Terranova shows a profit with his recent graduates trying winners for the first time and this sophomore colt has stamina influences on the dam side of his pedigree.
#2 Boys Code (6-1) is 1-for-20 so it is hard to take him seriously as a win candidate. He hit the board eleven times including three minor placings from as many starts at 1 1/8 miles. He can rally for a share.
#8 Bob John Ray (5-2) and #5 Toscano (3-1) are the two favorites. The former ran out of steam late and just held the place at this distance on May 25, and the latter tries a route of ground for the first time.
