#9 Whimsical Heir (7-2) is on the rise for Mark Glatt. She dropped into a maiden claimer in her first start of the year on March 22 and comfortably scored as the 2-1 favorite. She rolled to a big win as the favorite in a $16k/2L sprint on April 19, and just missed the place in a solid effort vs. this kind on May 25. She figures to stalk while out in the clear and can win this if she improves again.
#4 Baby Kristen (5-2) is 11-for-25 overall and 4-for-8 with a trio of runner-up finishes this year. She won at Pleasanton on July 4 and shipped to DMR and held on by a half-length as the even money favorite in a similar turf sprint on July 25. She has a strong record in dirt sprints and should be in the hunt from the outset.
#2 Wishtheycallcouldbe (9-2) won a trio of races last year (2 at DMR) but has not found the winner’s circle since October. She hit the board in 5 of her last 6 starts.
#5 Sharp Ride (8-1) stalked and scored at 7-1 in a starter optional-claiming affair at 6f on June 8. Dean Peterson is a quality trainer and this Clubhouse Ride filly is getting better.
