Check out my Friday (8-9-24) Del Mar Race 7 analysis below.
DMR 7 (Graduation, CA-bred, 5.5f)
Primary – #3 R HEISMAN
Secondary – #1 Nap, #4 Bodacious, #6 Case Hit
Horse Comments:
#3 R Heisman (6-5) had a troubled trip and was clearly second best in his debut as the beaten 1-2 favorite for Luis Mendez on May 3. He moved to the Peter Miller barn and cruised to a big maiden win at 20 cents on the dollar second time out, and was 9 1/4 lengths clear of the show in a solid effort as the beaten favorite in a stakes race at Pleasanton on July 7.
#1 Nap (10-1) is still a maiden after three starts but he is getting faster. He landed the show in his first two starts at SA and was clearly second best in a local maiden sprint on July 26. He broke from the rail twice so the inside post should not be an issue. He figures to save ground stalking the pace.
#4 Bodacious (6-1) dusted R Heisman at 6-1 odds in his SA bow, and set the pace and split a 12-horse field as the beaten chalk in the Bashford Manor at CD second time out.
#6 Case Hit (10-1) wired the field in his 5f bow at SA on June 16. Runner-up Infamous Angel (also entered here) returned to graduate at LRC on July 7, and show finisher Nap (also entered here) landed the place in his next start on July 26.
