#7 Stay and Scam (5-2) stalked from the inside post and flattened out as the beaten favorite when last seen in the Solana Beach on Aug. 18. Doug O’Neill’s fresh filly turns back and she ran well in all four starts at this course/distance including a win in the Irish O’Brien in March. She attracts Rispoli and she was part of the trifecta in all eight local turf starts (3 wins). She owns early-pressing versatility.
#4 Rose Maddox (5-1) owns two wins at this distance. One was in this race last year, and the other was in the Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf Sprint in January. She reunites with Juan Hernandez and Steve Miyadi is strong with his third after a layoff starters. She can get involved late.
#11 Big Summer(5-1) likes this turf course and fired trifecta shots in 11 of 14 turf starts overall. She sports three wins at this distance including the Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf Sprint. Hector Berrios is her new rider and he is a quality turf pilot.
#8 Chismosa (10-1) is 0-for-6 with three show finishes on turf. She is versatile and can hit the board.
#10 Grand Slam Smile (10-1) turns back and returns to turf in her third start after a layoff. She won the Cal Cup Oaks in her lone turf attempt in January and she sports a pair of 5f Pleasanton bullets for this.
