Check out my Tuesday (11-26-24) Zia Park Race 9 analysis below.

ZIA 9 (Zia Park Oaks, 8.5f dirt) – Post Time 5:49 PM ET
Primary – #10 XENA, #6 Lemonesse
Secondary – #3 Avana

Horse Comments:

#10 Xena (9-2) is an improving $400k Constitution filly for Steve Asmussen. She won her last three starts and elevated her numbers in back-to-back wire jobs on July 3 and Sept. 5. Flavien Prat takes the call and she should make her presence felt from the outset.

#6 Lemonesse (6-1) won her first three starts for Steve Asmussen. She stepped up and was beaten 11 lengths in the Remington Park Oaks Sept. 29. Jose Ortiz is 4-for-7 with this barn recently and the fresh Gun Runner filly will probably stalk the pace.

#3 Avana (8-1) broke slow and split a 10-horse field in her turf route bow last year. She won all six starts this year as the favorite at lesser venues including five straight stakes races. Blaine Wright is her new trainer and she will try to get involved from off the pace. She is 2-for-2 at this distance.
