Check out my Friday (7-18-25) Del Mar Race 2 analysis below.
DMR 2 (Str-Alw-50k, 8T) – Post Time 5:30 PM ET
Primary – #6 NIGHT OUT, #3 Let Seamus Go
Secondary – #4 Backdoor Royalty, #1 Blamethegoodtimes
Horse Comments:
#6 Night Out (5-2) has the right patient style for this race and this turf course. He missed the place by a neck in a clear show finish at 8T June 7 and that was his first start in more than seven months. Strong turf rider Umberto Rispoli takes the call and he is 4-for-10 with Phil D’Amato (all 10 finished in Top 3). He fired a 5f bullet for this at Los Al on July 12.
#3 Let Seamus Go (3-1) dropped from MSW to Mcl-50k and easily wired the field at 9T April 18, and he made the lead again and missed by a neck in his first start vs. winners at 8T May 11. The sharp colt might be the one to catch.
#4 Backdoor Royalty (12-1) ran well in both routes at GP. He graduated by a neck in his all-weather bow and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He was 20-1 at 8T second time out and chased, led, and held the place. He has upside.
#1 Blamethegoodtimes (6-1) should save ground behind the speed and should get pace to chase. He can hit the board.
