Check out my Thursday (7-24-25) Del Mar Race 6 analysis below.

DMR 6 (OC-20k/1x, CA-bred, 5T) – Post Time 7:30 PM ET
Primary – #4 SIR ROCKET, #5 Travelin’ Show
Secondary – #1 Catmansue, #7 Case Hit, #8 Belly Up

Horse Comments:

#4 Sir Rocket (5-2) was part of the trifecta in three of his last four turf sprints. The early-pressing gelding graduated at 6T in February and missed by a neck when last seen at 6.5T June 7 (troubled trip). He reunites with Mike Smith and he guided this one to a show finish at 6T May 11.

#5 Travelin’ Show (5-1) dueled and beat next-out winner Pokernightatvees by 2 1/2 lengths in a dirt sprint at LRC June 27. He graduated at 6T (April 2024) and Craig Lewis is a profitable 16% turf trainer. Kazushi Kimura stays put and he was aboard for both of his wins, and he is 2-for-5 with Lewis recently.

#1 Catmansue (7-2) finished a nose in front of Sir Rocket at 6T May 11, and he was 10th of 11 as the beaten favorite at 6.5T June 7 (Sir Rocket 3rd). Sharp turf rider Hector Berrios stays put and he is 2-for-9 with Jeff Mullins recently. He should save ground before launching his rally.

#7 Case Hit (4-1) wired the field in his 5f bow on dirt (June 2024) and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He made the lead and was second best in the Graduation second time out (August 2024) and show finisher I’m a Bad Boy was a next-out maiden winner. He adds lasix and this is his first start in 11+ months, and Peter Miller saddled three winners last week. Umberto Rispoli takes the call and he fired a 5f gate bullet for this July 11.

#8 Belly Up (5-1) wired the field in a $25k claimer at 6.5T March 23 and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He dueled and held the show at 6T May 16 and clear runner-up Agency was a next-out winner. He should impact the pace under profitable turf rider Armando Ayuso.
