Horse Comments:
#4 Dreaming of Kona (9-2) might be in the right stalking spot behind a pair of early runners. He got back on the beam as the favorite in a dirt sprint at Thistledown on June 23. He sports two local wins including a victory in the Tom Ridge Stakes in 2023.
#3 John Dutton (2-1) dueled on the lead and was best of the rest in third in the Hard Spun at a mile and seventy yards July 21. He wired the field in back-to-back local sprints prior to his last and should be all over the pace.
#6 Spirited Sol (6-1) stalked the pace and landed the place as a 45-1 longshot at this course and distance July 28. The 4-time local winner has a good overall record at six furlongs (15 3-5-3), and he should get pace to chase.
#5 You Bet a Fortune (9-5) went all the way in his last three local sprints at this distance. Something has to give here because John Dutton has the same running style. Can one of the early runners shake loose? They are evenly matched on pace ratings.
