Horse Comments:
#7 Soundbite (3-1) was part of the exacta in four of five local starts. All three of her wins were at one mile and she was clearly second best as the even money favorite when last seen at this course and distance in October. Kendrick Carmouche got acquainted with her last time and he is a profitable 22% with Linda Rice.
#8 Khali Magic (7-2) is an 8-year-old mare with early-pressing speed and she has won several races at this course and distance. She stretches back out in her second start off a layoff and should impact the pace from the outside post.
#5 Sailaway (8-1) has been in good form since Gustavo Rodriguez claimed her in October. She likes this distance and projects a stalking trip while out in the clear.
#3 Waveless (4-1) was 2-1 in her local extended sprint debut and she made the running and graduated by 2 1/2 lengths. She was the favorite at 6 1/2 furlongs second time out and she pressed and faded to 5th of 9 (beaten 21 lengths). She adds blinkers and should impact the pace under her new rider Manny Franco.
