#3 Dawn At Normandy (2-1) dropped from MSW to Mcl-40k and landed the place late last year, and Cipriano Contreras claimed him for $40k that day. He stretched out, battled on the lead, and was second best at one mile in the mud March 8. He turned back, stalked from second, and graduated by 1 1/2 lengths as the even money favorite March 28, and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. Last time, he battled on the pace and split an 8-horse field at 7-1 odds April 18. He ships from OP and his trainer is 2-for-5 locally, and his winning rider Emmanuel Esquivel should put him in the race from the outset at a speed friendly distance.
#2 Sargent Sully (9-5) was up the track in his bow last year, and he got clear early and settled for the place second time out March 2025 (winner next-out winner). He returned from a layoff of 11+ months and wired the field by 3+ lengths as the favorite Feb. 21. He shipped from FG to KEE and set the pace and weakened to last of 5 April 12 (Alw-120k/1x). His winning rider Ben Curtis stays put and William Walden is 2-for-2 at Horseshoe Indy. He sports back-to-back KEE bullets for this and should be all over the pace.
#6 Tap Tap Tap It In (6-1) battled on the pace and missed by a nose in a 30k/2L synthetic sprint at TP Jan. 8. He is 1-for-8 with four runner-up finishes at Horseshoe Indy and a stalking trip is expected.
