#1 Royally Blue (5-1) is an all-weather specialist exiting a wide show finish from the outside post in a local synthetic sprint. She has won at this distance on turf before and should get pace to chase in her second start off a short layoff. If it rains, no problem. She is 6-for-17 with five runner-up finishes and five show finishes on all-weather ground.
#5 Laila Bella Girl (7-2) chased from second and prevailed by a nose in a relatively fast Florida-bred allowance win at this course/distance July 3. That was her first start in more than half a year, and she split an 8-horse field in an even effort on all-weather ground Aug. 3. She is 0-for-6 with a place finish on synthetic and 2-for-7 with a pair of runner-up finishes on turf. She is back on preferred turf footing in her third start off a long layoff and her running style versatility should allow her to work out a comfortable trip.
#6 Neodera (3-1) set a fast pace and was strong in a wire job at this course and distance Aug. 1. That was her first start since February and first on turf. She should be all over the pace but meets other speed and must avoid a regression.
#2 Happy Ride (9-2) had her 3-race win streak snapped when dueling and weakening to 5th of 7 as the beaten favorite in a local synthetic sprint June 26. She has won on turf before and should impact the pace, but she might be a bigger threat if this race is transferred to the synthetic track.
