#1 Vinsanity (3-1) finished in the top three in five of his last six local sprints (3 wins). He won three straight from June 1 through July 21, and he was a flat fourth as the beaten chalk Aug. 4. He stalked, dueled, and was clear third at 6f Sept. 7, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He reconnects with his winning rider Israel Rodriguez, and he should be forwardly placed from the inside post.
#5 Outhustle (9-5) was part of the trifecta in eight of his last ten starts (5 wins). His 3-race win streak was snapped when he missed by a neck in a local sprint Sept. 21.
#4 Span of Control (4-1) won back-to-back local claiming sprints in May and June, and he was fourth in his last two starts at 15-1 and 24-1. He might bounce back in his second start off a short layoff.
