Horse Comments:
#2 Sandtrap (3-1) won her 7T debut in France September 2024, and she landed the place behind subsequent graded winner Gezora second time out. She missed all of 2025 and shipped to the US and dominated an entry level allowance affair by 4+ lengths as the strong favorite April 18.
#4 Mandanaba (9-2) won three of six starts in France. She won a G3 second time out April 2025 and placed in a G1 May 2025. She returned from a long layoff and scored at Longchamp April 23.
#3 Segesta (7-5) looks like a solid contender for the productive Prat/Brown team. Her numbers jumped up in back-to-back runner-up finishes in graded races at 8T including a neck defeat in the G1 First Lady at KEE last fall. She was my top choice in the G1 Matriarch (November 2025) and she stalked and scored by 2 1/4 lengths as the favorite. She was the favorite in the G1 Jenny Wiley at KEE April 18 and she chased moderate fractions from second and finished in a dead heat for the win as the favorite. I like her tactical speed and she might get first run, but she is not a standout and her stablemate Sandtrap might offer more value.
#7 Buttercream Babe (15-1) moved to the Rusty Arnold barn and ran well in both turf sprints this year. She handles longer distances and was third in the local G2 Hall of Fame at 8T in 2024.
#8 Deep Satin (12-1) is back at her favorite venue and reconnects with her winning rider Jose Ortiz. Last year she won the local De La Rose and finished second in the G2 Ballston Spa.
