#2 Clairita (4-1) was the beaten favorite in a turf route last time. She is back on preferred ground and Phil Bauer is a profitable 26% with horses moving from turf to dirt. She won twice in dirt routes at CD including a front running score May 17, and she hit the board in both local attempts.
#6 Union Mist (2-1 was part of the trifecta in six of her last seven dirt attempts. She likes this distance (10 2-1-4) and her last win was at KEE at 1 1/6 miles in April. She beat Clairita by a neck that day under Wednesday’s rider Tyler Gaffalione.
#3 Amarth (6-1) adds blinkers and reconnects with Jose Ortiz. She won back-to-back races at CD and KEE in 2024 and has dropped all 11 starts since (4 minor awards).
