Horse Comments:
#2 Defiance (6-1) showed nice late energy in a show finish from post 11 in a local flat mile turf race July 19. She is bred to enjoy longer distances and might be able to run past this group if she handles the added real estate.
#8 Roselee May (3-1) won back-to-back flat mile turf races under Hernandez in March and April, and set the pace and finished a close third at 9T in May. She was the 2-1 favorite in a local 8T affair July 19 and she stalked wide from post 10 and weakened to 8th. Umberto Rispoli is her new pilot and he wins races with Michael McCarthy.
#3 Eternal Reign (5-2) tries a longer distance for Phil D’Amato and Juan Hernandez got to know her in a flat mile show finish June 15. She is 1-for-9 with six minor awards.
#4 Ima Joker (6-1) gets a turf rider upgrade to Hector Berrios and she handles longer distances. She wired the field at 10T last fall.
#6 Thebestisyettobe (4-1) stalked and scored at 3-1 odds in a $25k claimer at 8T May 16 and that was her first start since 2022. She was the 3-2 favorite at 8T June 6 and she rallied to win by 1 3/4 lengths.
