Horse Comments:
#5 Darlin Sugaree (3-2) broke slow and was up the track in her turf sprint bow at 13-1 odds and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. She was the strong favorite in a dirt sprint second time out and she stalked from post 10 and won by 4 1/2 lengths (Mcl-32k). She was 40 cents on the dollar vs. three rivals in a SOC-50k sprint in November and she stalked from the inside post and was clearly second best, and winner My Kat clicked right back Nov. 30. Her winning rider Juan Hernandez strings along and a stalking trip is anticipated.
#8 Tiger Lady (9-2) stalked and scored at 9-2 odds in her dirt sprint bow at DMR last summer. She was up the track in a CA-bred OC-20k/1x dirt sprint second time out and was unplaced in her last two state bred stakes routes on dirt and turf. She drops, turns back, returns to the main track, and figures to stalk the pace from the outside post under her new rider Kazushi Kimura.
#4 Final Table Lady (3-1) is back in a preferred dirt sprint and down in class after racing wide from the outside post and finishing last of 8 as a 63-1 outsider in the Cal Cup Oaks at 8T. She wired the field in a CA-bred Mcl-50k dirt sprint as the favorite at DMR last fall.
#7 Little Tinker Elle (30-1) ran well in multiple abbreviated dashes (1,000 yards) at Los Al since October. She will probably have the lead turning for home.
