Horse Comments:
#7 Prime Edge (3-1) was up the track in his extended sprint bow at WO (November 2024), and he returned from a long layoff and rallied for the place at 7f second time out (October 2025). He set the pace and ended up third on Feb. 18 and he finished a half-length in front of Up Country. He improved his speed ratings in all three starts and Gerardo Corrales got to know him last time. Josie Carroll is a profitable 20% with her second off a layoff runners and he can take this if he moves forward again.
#5 Up Country (5-2) hit the board in back-to-back dirt routes at CD last September and November, and pressed and weakened to 5th of 8 in a local all-weather affair at one mile Feb. 18. The new gelding adds blinkers, drilled a local 5f bullet for this March 12, and should make his presence felt from the outset. Brendan Walsh is 20% with his second off a layoff starters.
#6 Dienekes (8-1) was bumped at the start and closed some ground to finish 5th of 9 (beaten 5.5 lengths) in his local sprint bow at 22-1 odds Feb. 13. He sports two local bullets since his last and sharp local rider Luan Machado takes the call.
#3 Lahainaluna (8-1) was 6-1 in his flat mile bow at GP and he was beaten 15 lengths that day. Joe Sharp is 23% at TP and his new rider Rafael Hernandez is 4-for-9 with this outfit. He breezed a half-mile at TP Jan. 11 and rates a look if he handles all-weather ground.
