Check out my Saturday (4-12-25) Keeneland Race 10 analysis below.
KEE 10 (G1 Jenny Wiley, 8T) – Post Time 5:48 PM ET
Primary – #6 JABARRA, #1 Excellent Truth
Secondary – #7 Kehoe Beach, #8 Sacred Wish, #5 Be Your Best, #2 Choisya, #9 No Show Sammy Jo
Horse Comments:
#6 Jabarra (9-2) exits an even 4th of 7 in an all-weather sprint and that was just a prep (first start in 7+ months). She also began her 2024 campaign in a synthetic sprint (finished 3rd), and she moved forward with a 7T win in her second start after a layoff. She repeats that pattern this afternoon and showed a touch of class with back-to-back runner-up finishes in a G1 and a G3 last July.
#1 Excellent Truth (5-2) is a 4-for-11 mare making her first start in this country for her new trainer Chad Brown (7 Jenny Wiley wins), and she won a G3 at 10T in 2023. She scored at 8T last summer and landed the place at 8T when last seen July 2024 (winner next-out winner). Flavien Prat takes the call and she sports five Payson Park works for this.
#7 Kehoe Beach (7-2) wired the field in her final three turf starts last year including a stakes score as the favorite in the G2 Mrs. Revere at CD in November.
#8 Sacred Wish (8-1) is a fairly reliable turf performer but she is hardly a win machine (Turf Record: 11 3-4-2). She is 2-for-9 with five minor placings in turf stakes races (1st in Winter Memories, 1st in G1 Matriarch).
#5 Be Your Best (6-1) has suddenly figured out how to win. She was 2-for-15 on turf after finishing 6th of 7 in the G2 Rodeo Drive at SA (October 2024). She set the pace and held on by a nose in the G3 Long Island at 11T (November 2024), and chased from second and scored by a length in the G3 Suwannee River (December 2024). She chased the pace and prevailed by a neck in the G2 Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf Jan. 25, and she was 9-1, 5-1, and 7-1 in her last three starts.
#2 Choisya (4-1) exits back-to-back Group 2 turf routes at Meydan. She is 7-for-19 overall with five runner-up finishes and seems to have the class to compete with these.
#9 No Show Sammy Jo (15-1) was 4th of 11 in her 7T bow in 2023, and won her next four turf routes including the All Along at LRL last September. She ended her 2204 campaign with a nose defeat in the G3 Long Island in November. She reconnects with her winning maiden pilot Manny Franco and Graham Motion’s fresh, versatile mare is getting faster.
