Check out my Sunday (4-13-25) Keeneland Race 8 analysis below.
KEE 8 (G3 Giant’s Causeway, 5.5T) – Post Time 4:44 PM ET
Primary – #7 PANDORA’S GIFT
Secondary – #2 Toupie, #4 Future Is Now
Horse Comments:
#7 Pandora’s Gift (6-1) makes her first start in more than half a year. She shipped from IRE to this country and missed by a neck in G2 Presque Isle Masters last September. She switched surfaces and stalked the pace and landed the show in the G2 Franklin at this course/distance last fall. Irad Ortiz, Jr. takes the call, Christophe Clement is her new trainer, and she sold for $850k at the Keeneland Championship Sale last October.
#2 Toupie (7-2) won the Stewart Manor (6T) in 2023, and captured the Stormy Blues (6T) and Unzip Me (6.5T) last year. She started 2025 with a front running win as the favorite in the Las Cienegas (6.5T) Jan. 19. Flavien Prat sticks with Graham Motion’s early-pressing filly.
#4 Future Is Now (9-5) captured half of her fourteen starts. She won four turf sprints stakes last year including three victories at 5.5T (G2 Intercontinental, Smart N Fancy, G2 Franklin), and the local Franklin was her last start (October 2024). Mike Trombetta shows a +ROI with his graded stakes starters and her winning rider Paco Lopez is 3-for-6 with this outfit.
