The Grade 3 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park was the latest Kentucky Oaks 2026 prep race and On Time Girl overcame a troubled trip to win by 3 lengths at seven panels on Jan. 31. A total of fourteen Oaks points races have been run so far, and in this report, I will recap the Forward Gal, update the points standings, and share my top five Oaks fillies.

I cover all of the Kentucky Oaks points race on my Runaway Horse YouTube channel, and through the first 14 points races, my top choices have 6 wins, 3 runner-up finishes, and 4 show finishes. There are three Oaks Points races this week, the rescheduled Martha Washington on Feb. 6 (Oaklawn), the Suncoast on Feb. 7 (Tampa Bay), and the Las Virgenes on Feb. 8 (Santa Anita).

Kentucky Oaks 2026 Points Race Recaps

Grade 3 Forward Gal at Gulfstream Park (1-31-26): Mythical was the second betting choice and she set a pressured pace before fading in the lane. On Time Girl ($4.20) chased from second early, got shuffled back to fourth, and she moved out, found running room in the stretch, and finished with good energy to win by 3 lengths (82 BSF). Imperatrice pressed from the outside post, led, and held the place by a neck over Sneaky Good. Hollen Drive was best of the rest in fourth and was followed by Mythical, Tessellate, Secane, and Music Burst. Irad Ortiz, Jr. rode the winner for Brad Cox. Fractions: 22.96, 46.05, 1:11.79, 1:24.59.

Jarrod Horak’s Fabulous Five Kentucky Oaks 2026 Contenders (2-1-26)

#1 – BELLA BALLERINA (Street Sense – Pretty City Dancer, by Tapit) – Trainer: Brendan Walsh – Last Ranking (1)

Comments: Last year’s Golden Rod (G2) winner captured both juvenile outings. She has worked five times this year including a 5f bullet in 1:00.20 (1/43) at Fair Grounds on Jan. 30. The Rachel Alexandra Stakes (G2) at Fair Grounds on Feb. 14 might be next for this promising filly.

#2 – ZANY (American Pharoah – Mo’ Green, by Uncle Mo) – Trainer: Todd Pletcher – Last Ranking (2)

Comments: Todd Pletcher’s unbeaten American Pharoah filly has breezed six times at Palm Beach Downs since winning the Demoiselle (G2) late last year. She fired a half-mile bullet in 47.97 (1/30) on Jan. 31 and is expected to start her sophomore campaign in the Suncoast Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 7. Pletcher trainee Nest won the Demoiselle, Suncoast, and Ashland prior to landing the place in the Kentucky Oaks, and Zany is following the same race pattern.

#3 – SUPER CORREDORA (Gun Runner – Super Simple, by Super Saver) – Trainer: John Sadler – Last Ranking (3)

Comments: The G1 BC Juvenile fillies winner is 2-for-2 in dirt routes and she has worked eight times at Santa Anita since the Cup. She went a half-mile in 48.00 (13/84) on Feb. 1 and is nominated to the Las Virgenes at one mile at Santa Anita on Feb. 8.

#4 – EXPLORA (Blame – Collections Choice, by Bernardini) – Trainer: Bob Baffert – Last Ranking (4)

Comments: The 2-time stakes winner turned back and easily captured the listed Santa Ynez at seven panels on Jan. 10. She has worked twice at Santa Anita since that race including a 5f move in 1:00.40 (9/41) on Jan. 30. She is nominated to the Las Virgenes on Feb. 8.

#5 – ATROPA  (Into Mischief – Bellera, by Bernardini) – Trainer: Cherie DeVaux – Last Ranking (5)

Comments: She has a good foundation with four starts and a pair of stakes placings. She underperformed a bit in a close show finish as the beaten favorite in the Silverbulletday on Jan. 17. She needs to run faster next time to remain on my list.

Next Nine: (6) On Time Girl, (7) Taken by the Wind, (8) Dazzling Dame, (9) Counting Stars, (10) Hit Parade, (11) Search Party, (12) Meaning, (13) Life of Joy, (14) Tommy Jo
