Scratches (race 9): #3 Knight to King, #4 Comininalittlehot

Updated Tickets After Scratches:

SA 9 (Str-OC-50k, 8T) – Post Time 7:43 PM ET
Primary – #8 CALL ME SIR, #5 Sneaking Candy
Secondary – #2 Mysterious Husband, #7 Sweet Odyssey

Horse Comments:

#8 Call Me Sir (7-2) added blinkers and stalked and scored vs. CA-bred MSW foes at 8T last fall and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. He made his first start since December 2024 and his second start as a gelding in a $40k claiming turf route Aug. 31, and he stalked the pace and missed by a neck (first lasix). He finished an even fourth at SA Oct. 18 and he was placed third through disqualification. He broke from an outer post and finished 6th of 9 (beaten 4.75 lengths) Nov. 23, and he returned in a week and rallied to miss by a nose Nov. 30. I made him my second choice in the Unusual Heat Turf Classic at 9T Jan. 17 and he stalked the pace and split an 8-horse field in an even effort at 8-1 odds. Kazushi Kimura takes the call and he is 2-for-2 with Mark Glatt recently. He cuts back to his winning distance and figures to stalk the pace from the outside post.

#5 Sneaking Candy (5-2) stretched out, switched surfaces, and wired the field in his MSW win at 8T (March 2024). He disappeared for a long time and resurfaced in a turf sprint on 12-28-25, and he stalked and weakened to 9th of 12 in that much needed event. Mirco Demuro takes the call and he is entered for the $50k tag, and he might attempt to make the lead in a race lacking front end speed.

#2 Mysterious Husband (4-1) hit the board in three straight MSW turf routes after Glatt re-claimed him at DMR August 2024, and he rallied to graduate by a nose when last seen on 2-23-25. This is his first start in more than a year and recently hot rider Emisael Jaramillo takes the call. A stalking trip is expected.

#7 Sweet Odyssey (5-1) ran well in his last three maiden claiming turf routes including a nose victory from off the pace as the favorite at this course/distance Jan. 8. Phil D’Amato’s gelded son of Twirling Candy reconnects with Fresu and will try to get involved from off the pace.
