#7 U Devil U (5-1) won his last two extended sprints at seven panels and 7 1/2 furlongs. He earned quality numbers in those wins and worked out comfortable outside tactical trips both times. He drew well again and John Velazquez got to know the 2-time local winner last time.
#3 Built (7-5) was best of the rest in third in the restricted St. Matthews April 30. He was on the Derby trail last year but was losing ground in longer races and ended up in the Pat Day Mile instead of the Derby. Prior to his last, he captured two starts at six panels on dirt (December 2025, March 2026). Irad Ortiz, Jr. takes the call and he figures to chase the pace.
#2 Extra Anejo (6-1) makes his first start since August 2025. The 3-time extended sprint winner runs well fresh and sports three local bullets for this. Jose Ortiz wins races with Steve Asmussen and he has won twice at CD.
#4 Macho Music (4-1) drops out of the stakes ranks and adds lasix. He reconnects with his winning rider Luis Saez and he looks like the one to catch.
