#1 Willie Bird (3-1) captured six of his last nine starts. He won his last three outings including a front running victory in an all-weather sprint Feb. 26. He is sharp and versatile and has a nose for the wire.
#5 Certain (8-1) makes his first start since October 2025. Scooter Davis is his new trainer and he is 24% with this type of layoff runner. The 7-time local winner reconnects with his winning rider Antonio Gallardo and he should get pace to chase.
#4 Paynted Warrior (7-2) aired by 14 lengths in an extended sprint at TAM April 10, and he set the pace and weakened to 4th of 7 at 7f April 25. He has struck five times at PID and should be right up on the pace.
