Horse Comments:
#5 Treble Clef (9-2) ran into classy marathon specialist Next in the Greenwood Cup (G3) at 1 1/2 miles Sept. 21 and he was a clear third behind the romping chalky winner (beaten 15 lengths). The 4-year-old Arrogate colt won two races at this course/distance earlier this year and a stalking trip is expected.
#2 Bartlett (8-5) set the pace and aired by 10 lengths as the favorite in a local OC-16/1x affair at this distance Sept. 25. That was her first route and she loved the added ground, and she looks like a major pace player if able to run two alike.
#6 Chelonian (8-1) picked up his fourth win of the year in a local $25k claimer Sept. 24 and Mike Pino has good stats first after the claim. The versatile gelding is sharp and might not be out of this.
#8 Mr. Hustle (4-1) stretches back out for Jamie Ness and he won at this course/distance Aug. 21. He is entered for the $40k tag and reconnects with his winning rider Mychel Sanchez (33% wins w/Ness).
