Check out my Monday (7-20-26) Presque Isle Downs Race 7 analysis below.
PID 7 (Lady Erie, 3yo Fillies, 6f all-weather) – Post Time 6:12 PM ET
Primary – #3 QUIET STREET, #8 Smooch Up
Secondary – #9 Niche, #6 Eye Candy Warrior
Horse Comments:
#3 Quiet Street (3-1) was entered in Saratoga’s G3 Coronation Cup at 5.5T on Saturday but scratched and goes in this all-weather sprint instead. She turns back in distance for Alvarado/Mott and will try to get involved late. She won her first two turf sprints. Her first turf sprint win was a last-to-first MSW affair at SAR last summer, and she followed that up with a stakes victory in the Untapable at 6.5T. The late runner tries a synthetic sprint for the first time.
#8 Smooch Up (5-2) is 4-for-4 at PID. She returned from a layoff of 8+ months and romped by 6+ lengths in the Malvern Rose at 6.5f June 22, and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. She earned her best number yet last time and fired a local 5f bullet for this July 13.
#9 Niche (6-1) exits back-to-back wire jobs in dirt sprints. We know she is fast and her numbers stack up well, and she is a logical contender if she handles all-weather ground.
#6 Eye Candy Warrior (5-1) was no match for Smooch Up in the Malvern Rose, and she bounced back with a local state bred win as the favorite July 8. She is 4-for-4 at this distance and projects a stalking trip for a productive jockey-trainer team.
